War clouds are looming on the horizon over the ‘little red dot’ on the world map – Singapore. Two families are eerily repeating events that occurred generations apart. Follow the stories of modern intelligence consultant Tristan Hackett and his Great-Granduncle, WW2 Captain Teddy Hackett, as they each learn to abandon their Western elitism and subconscious biases. As they begin to love Singapore, its people, and two remarkable women, war and chaos begin manifesting in the East, threatening to envelop their lives, and loved ones. Unlikely alliances are formed, the wealthy elite mix with criminal triads, triads collaborate with terrorists, and governments exploit everyone to achieve their objectives. Will history repeat itself against the luscious, mysterious, and multicultural backdrop of Singapore? Will the same enthrallment, forbidden love, politics, crime, espionage, war, brutality, and romantic bliss manifest in both of their stories? As is the case with many Singlish words, this story pushes the polysemic boundaries of fiction genres. It will kidnap you for a couple of days, leaving you with a lingering bittersweet aftertaste but longing for more.
